    Scotty Cameron question

Why do so many players prefer the Newport 2 as opposed to the Newport? I noticed the Newport 2 is the only version available standard in different lengths and LH. Also noticed all the pros who play Camerons seem to use a Newport 2 instead of a Newport. Any thoughts on this?

It probably cost more. The biggest differance petween Camerons and other putters is the price tag.
Every set should come with a 2 iron!

They cost the same. Newport 2 look more like a Ping Anser than a Newport that is why. Just buy a Ping.

I haven't noticed a majority of Cameron's played being the Newport2 but then again I haven't really been paying attention... As for myself I play a Pro Platinum Newport and prefer the softer lines of it over the 2.

I've got the Newport 2 and the reason I went with that vs. the 2.5 was simple: I was making putts with the 2 and not with the 2.5. The 2.5 I had trouble lining up to the putt, according to the pro shop assistant. I tried the 2, I was lining up properly and sinking my putts.

The Newport has no sight line, the Newport 2 does, as do the higher-numbered models.

Actually the Newport's do have sightlines, just not on the top. Here's a pic of my Pro Platinum and I'm pretty sure the newer Studio Style has it too.
