    Shaft Suggestions

Ok, I'm seriously looking to buy a driver to stay in my bag for at least a year. I have just tried the Fujikura Tour platform 27.3, absolutely do not like it. I also hated the prolaunch. Sadly the MAS2 in my original R7 is the shaft I like best.

I will most likely be going with either an R5 or an R7460 in either a 10.5 or 9.5. I want a shaft that plays as close to steel as possible. High kick, stiff tip something that can be loaded like nobody's business. I'm looking to just close my eyes and swing out of my shoes, I want a shaft that will handle that without bending and twisting all over the place.

Proforce V2 x flex will do the job, but seriously mate, try some control to get your scores down. You cant buy a game, at 16, pretty much any standard shaft is fine, swing easier and you will hit harder.

From the top of the backswing, feel your right shoulder move down a line that runs directly to the ball. If your right shoulder is moving down the turned plane line, the wrist cock will remain in place longer (soon as the right shoulder stops moving down, the angle between wrist and left arm starts opening up), Wrist cock in place, with gentle acceleration = lag pressure and then just let this later release happen naturally ie dont think about uncocking your wrists. The key is the right shoulder allowing a late release, with constant lag pressure to create power, and not forcing power into your swing.

If you do this, you will hit the ball "harder" with less effort. It may start straight and fade (or even slice) initially, if it does, your wrist action is incorrect.

Wrist action is two parts, cocking and hinging.

Wrist cock is holding a club in your golf grip then swing the clubhead straight up at your face using your wrists. Wrist hinge is hold a club in your left hand, horizonatl to the ground pointing to your right - or away from the target. now roll your wrist over so the club points at you target (similar to tuning a door handle). The wrists do both of those together thru impact. slice is from lack of correct wrist hinge.

Correct action of right arm to show how wrists should move is imagine skipping stones across a lake, this action is EXACTLY the action of the right arm and wrist.

But hey, what do I know., I'm just some hacker off 2.

Just remember, swinging harder won't necessarily make the ball go farther, and often it does just the opposite. Having a fundamentally sound swing with a speed that is still under control will get far better results than just swinging from the heels. 250 in the fairway is better than 280 in the trees or O.B.
    Seldom right, never in doubt......

OK thanks. I tried the V2 stiff a while back in a 905R?? Whatever the # letter combo is for the new Titty 460.I liked but was not overly thrilled. I hit a Cobra F-Speed after with an NV-S that felt awesome. I may try to take that one out to demo. I was just kidding about the swinging like that. I am just not the smooth swinger the Fuji TP 27.3 was designed for. I like the MAS2 in the R7, high kick, stiff tip. I got fitted for a Callaway a while back and they recommended NV-X. I'll be trying a few more out but definitely going for forgiveness in the head.

I am currently using the proforce V2 76gram stiff shaft on my 905S. it feels great but i think the tip is still soft. If you are really into stiff tip, I think you might want to try the NV 75gram stiff or x-stiff green shaft and forget about the NVS as it is too tip soft.

you can go slightly old school '02 and go with the classic fujikura vista tour---high kickpoint--- plays stiff but it loads nice---i have one in one of my "for fun" drivers---cleveland comp 10.5---thing gets out there like a bullet.

I actually meant NV-S as in the stiff green. I'll give all the suggestions another go at it. I'm searching for demo days for any and all manufacturer's in my area. I got a lot of good feedback from Callaway although I didn't like the FT-3 head. I'm just going to keep adding head/shaft combos to my list. I am having very good luck with buying clubs off Ebay and reselling at a profit so I may just try to demo that route also.
