What type of hybrid club would you like to see invented?

No I'm not talking about ordinary hybrids. I'm talking about inventing a new type of club that is a hybrid of other clubs in the bag.

For example Edgey has invented the Thriver. A driver clubhead with a three wood shaft and loft of about 15-16 degrees. Some members have even adopted this idea and built their own Thriver, whilst other less enamored members have given it unflattering nicknames such as 'Thragina'. The purpose of the Thriver is supposedly accuracy and control off the tee.

Horseballs came up with the idea of a PWiver. A pitching wedge head with a driver shaft for those situations where you have to get the ball up high really quickly to clear tall trees.

I suggested another control club, the Dredge, which is a driver head on a wedge shaft for those short tight par 4's where control and placement off the tee is essential and for driving par 4's at NAH's local goat track.

Any other ideas aspiring club builders got any ideas?

Skrip. It's a grip with a built-in Skycaddie. That way you just look down at the grip and know how far you've got to the hole.

How about a 'Pusser'? A cross between a putter and a pocket pu55y. Would definitely make practicing putting more fun. Plus, it would give you something to do during those 6 hour rounds while you are waiting for the group ahead of you...

Sounds like you've already put a lot of thought into that one?

How about a putter-ball? A regular mallet style putter with a couple of balls behind the face for alignment? Scratch that. That would be almost as gay as a belly putter or Callaway.
A rifle-finder? It's basically a rifle with a laser range finder. You can kill the group in front in you if you are getting bored, plus get yardage.

    How about a Priver

Its a putter with a 45" graphite shaft.

For the purists amongst us it would make driving REALLY hard, like all the other clubs they so adore (2 irons, 3 irons, etc)

It could become the GR mans club. 460cc drivers being for flaming, limp wristed, shirtlifters like Camp Freddy

A wipebrid, . . . . it would be a hybrid that I could wipe my ass with without having reach around. It would be the best use I ever got out of a hybrid . . . .

hybropener = 21 degree with churchkey/opener for enjoying authentic (not-twisties) bottles of beer you've snuck onto the "no private coolers allowed" snooty course.

This is the best suggestion so far.

Here in NZ all the best beers are in real bottles and all the weak, tasteless, cheap cr@p is sold with twist tops.

What about a 5 iron that instead of having a cavity on the back of the head has another face. It could then be used by right or left handers for those awkward shots that have to be played on your unatural side. ie. next to the base of a tree.

Sounds good OP but it needs a unique and original name ala 'Thriver'.

I think the world is clearly in need of a "Drironutter." You drive with it, hit approach shots to the green from the fairway, and then putt with it. However, you would need at least 14 of these identical clubs to make sure your bag space was fully utilized.

After everybody has a full set of these, then I'll introduce the Drionutter II, which will have moveable weights, and then the Drionutter III, which will also have adjustable lie angles and lofts.
    Seldom right, never in doubt......

It will have the adjustable weights and lofts, but also have a telescoping ball retriever.

That's a fantastic idea, Edgey! If only you came out of under your rock and discovered something called a fairway wood with a whole gamut of lofts.

You can just flip the iron head the other way around and play an 'unnatural' swing.

No I meant that you flip the iron such that a right handed one would have its toe pointing downwards and heel facing upwards, and you use a left-handed swing to hit the ball with the face as so. You'll be able to hit it out maybe only 120 yards or so.
