Leaving GR in a strop and returning like it didnt happen, biatch move??

    Hi

In light of Benguk's return to the GR fold i have a question

If a member announces they are leaving in a stroppy hissy fit and then returns a few years later as if the stroppy hissy fit never happened, is this a GR biatch move?

    A poll is called for

I would have to say yes. No one else needs to respond since I'm always right.

My view has always been that if a person did not like the forum, quietly leave, shake the dust off the old footjoys and say NOTHING.

That way you can always come back (equally as quietly) when you feel like it.

All this public annoucing - so vulgar.

If a member leaves in a strop and announces it in a leaving thread and then returns after only a few days or weeks that is a definite BM.

However time heals all wounds and I think after a couple of years old members should be welcome.

Especially a legend like Benguk. Benguk's Moderator retirement thread secured his place in GR Folklore.
I chose the road less traveled.

Now where the f#ck am I?

Agreed, but to return and not even acknowledge that retirement thread. I think thats a biatch move.

    Pretty short for Larry's standard.

He is not as deadly as with Larry's SW too.

I don't really have an opinion on this but I voted b!tchmove just on basic principle. I figure that as Benguk is such a long standing GR biatch, every move he makes should be considered b!tchmove.

im interested to hear what Noshuz thinks of this, as i do recall him quite recently doing the same thing....

i dont know about leaving in a strop,, but i do think it is better to burn out than to fade away..

but once burned out you can never return... well maybe as a psued (tm)

Even though it was before my time here, I saw the Benguk retirement thread. I think it really sets the standard for the "I'm outta here" tirade.
I think everyone should keep in mind that he was a kid. Hell, he's still a kid, but then he was what, in 7th grade? Kids in recent years live on computers. To them, playing Halo online is the equivalent of my generation playing backyard sports. They view it as interaction with other people. (However twisted and sad as that seems) I think the myspace generation takes this online stuff more seriously and less anonymously than the thirtysomethings.
Trying to moderate this asylum might have been a bit too much for a middle-schooler.
I say cut Ben a little slack.

    Eloquently stated.

In addition to the leaving thread Bunguks rivalry with Besson was always entertaining. Or was it Besson v BPC?

I completely agree about the leaving thread, it is GR gold

Come on mate - surely you jest! Now you are just nitpicking. Stop being such an old woman. This is GR after all! Did you really expect him to start off with a big grovelling apology thread before posting on other topics? Get off the grass. That to me would be the biggest, most lameass BM of all!

Kiwi, I have a question about your avatar. Since the Kiwi is your national symbol, shouldn't your avatar show the Kiwi bird majestically flying across the sky with Emerald Green forests, blue lakes and cerulean sky in the background? Maybe with a courageous and intelligent expression on his face?

The Kiwi in your avatar looks confused and insecure as he pokes around the mud, planning his next bird dropping, hoping he'll succeed in skulking off unnoticed.

    Dont agree Kiwi

If you make a drama queen type resignation post (Benguk, GHD etc) particularly when they say things like f uck you all, i wont be back, your all c unts etc etc it is a major biatch move to skulk back and post like you never did.

I can give BUK a squeeze because he was only 6 at the time

Well as you can see I have like 90 posts on this account so this isn't my first time back - I did have to acknowledge it the first time I came back. I don't know why it matters anymore, I occasionally think of something I might want to post and then I use this account to do it, I'm not "back" or anything.

As larry is to pointing out Obama's flaws so is Edgey to pointing out *****moves.
Edgey could sniff out a *****move like Freddy Mercury could sniff out a turd soon to be hatched. Or is it the other way around.
This thread is a major *****move.

Prior to the arrival of man there were no ground dwelling mammals on our fair shores and through evolutionary process birds like the kiwi, kakapo, weka etc took on the role of ground dwelling mammals in the natural ecosystem, foraging for food on the forest floor and since there were no predators to worry about they gave up the ability to fly. The introduction of predators such as stoats & weasels has been an ecological disaster and all these birds are now on the endangered list. That's why he's looking confused and insecure. He only comes out at night and does hope to skulk off unnoticed. A bit like our Kiwi rugby team who choke like Greg Norman every four years at the world cup. We look confused and insecure during the game and hope to skulk off unnoticed after we go belly up, usually in the quarter or semi final.

The only mammal in NZ prior to the arrival of man was a native bat.

I'm certain Pingman will dispute the above evolutionary theory, but that's another story.

Who gives a flying F.uck about if he leaves and comes back, the more the merrier I say.

If newbies or returning members are getting it tight like camp freddy on larry's ass then it will just be the same faces with the same patter.

You always had respect around here Dave. That's why so many of us took issue with you leaving. You're pretty much the one and only universally likable guy on the board...

What do these women tend to be like compared to Americans? Since you have an American wife you probably have a good perspective. For instance, when she shows reserve should I just put it in gear and hit the throttle? Not to be too crude, but do you think a queen's english girl can open sexually (freakishly)? Other salient points too. Trying to understand the subculture.
