    blade struggle

    hey

i've been playing a set of mizuno mp 33's for the last 12 months and they've been good to me for most of it helping me go from 9 to 6 ! but for the last 2 months or so i've really been struggling with everything from shanks to high weak block that i never had before !!

i love the workability of blades and the feel , to go with the confidence of looking down at a thin top line but was wondering would any1 suggest a more forgiving blade-ish set of irons ?

Go to Ebay right now and get yourself a set of Ping Eye 2 square groove irons. Don't get the + model. You can get a set in great condition for $200. Best clubs ever made. Make sure you get the ZZ-Lite shaft. In addition, it's very important to put Ping grips on the clubs. Don't buy any other grips. I prefer the i3 grip. You may have read about me on these boards and the general consensus is that I'm the best iron player in the forum. Go now and buy them.

Famousdavis beat me to it. I was going to suggest either the Ping Eye2's or the Callaway Big Berthas with graphite shafts. That's what Famousdavis and Larryrsf, the two best golfers on this forum play.

Larryrsf is a 6 handicap like you but he'd be scratch if he was a better putter.
I chose the road less traveled.

Now where the f#ck am I?

Cleveland CG red's tour spec, a great set with low flight, thin topline at address, small heads, easy workability, basically all the benifits of a blade with a small cavity.

I have just come back to playing this year after an accident and started with an 11 handicap, i couldn't hit my titleists so tried these and they saved my game. Now fully fit they helped me down to ten then i went back to the blades now 8.6.

I will keep the clevelands for a while though just incase like yourself i go off the boil with the blades.

Mizuno touts the MP-52s as being the most hittable of the MP line. They definitely have the cavity backs and the 7-3 iron also have a cut channel towards the bottom of the cavity. I have a set and started my GFF journey out with them, but I now hit the 67s and 33s better than I do the 52s. Still, you may hit the 52s better . . . . .

I'm in agreement with FDB. Do whatever is necessary to avoid putting any effort into improving - buy some clubs that will do as much of the work for you as possible.

That has to be the most ignorant post I've seen to date. I guess all of the PGA tour pros that play cavity back clubs haven't earned their money. Keep hitting the blades you wanker.

I'd love to see you play to that wonderful BS vanity 2 handicap with a set of MP-33's in your bag.

    Fraud. Phony. Pseud. Assclown.

BTW - you should follow the rules and post some EVIDENCE of your prowess before declaring yourself the GR GOD of iron-striking. I had to post swing videos and pictures of balls I had destroyed with driver swings before I established my credibility as GR's supreme long bomber. Oh yeah... I actually did that.

    Swing vid or STFU.

    ZZ-Lite shafts are for weaklings.

Real men use heavy steel shafts.

There are absolutely plenty of blade style cavities to choose from. Or more forgiving blades than mp 33's. Mp 32's are a forgiving blade design as are Macgregor 1025m. (older model). The main think that is hard to find in a blade style cavity these days is the very thin top line that I for one really like. Even mizuno and titleist blades are too thick in that regard. Mp 32's or 67's for eg. or tittty 695's. Lack of offset is not a problem, neither is a thinner sole. These are common features of many blade style cavities. My tourstage Z101 are more blade like than many blades IMO, but forgiving also. they are a cavity back. Modern blades tend to be more forgiving as the market has been demanding that. I think the new TM rac blades are pretty forgiving. As I said there is no shortage of good players cavities out there. Have fun looking.

    Hi newbie

So tell me are you named, somewhat modestly for your golfing ability or because you sell your arse to old men for hot gay sex?

You may want to consider Hogan FTXs. Modest cavity back in the 3-7 and blades 8 to PW. Opinion is divided as to the quality of the Apex.

indeed edgy "the pro" is known to sell his arse but the tennis racket is just a personal stab at myself !! he's just a little upset that my course is ranked ahead of his , worse than that his putting would make most +2's quit

Kiawah Island is a pseuds paradise, a links wannabe. A little like the mock tudor houses footballers buy, looks like the real thing but scratch away the thin veneer and the truth is exposed. The truth is of course it is a shallow fake, close but no cigar, sort of but not quite approximation of a good golf course.

Where is your home course shoeinc
