That old lady behind Mward has a look like, "I bet those two guys over there are a couple of them there "homosexuals."

More like father and son and the woman is wondering "Why aren't those two at work?"

After five holes, pottsy leads at two over, mward is four over, dave is working thru a greenless front nine at 7 over, and qtong is headed for the a/c. Two threejacks has not helped dave.

Ive been following this all morning and I appreciate the updates.

But why would qtong do this? Im sorry - Ive never met the fella, and Im sure he and I will play in 2011 given our locations being somewhat close, but this move screams immaturity.

Is he sick or something? I hope something is wrong and he just didnt quit. That would be unfortunate.
edit: this isnt a slam on qtong.

Dave this is for GR. You can't lose to a guy in a visor! Mward do you hear me? Nobody in a visor can win this thing. That is GR heresy!

BTW how is Pottsy's Geordie speech? Can you guys understand him?

Qtong might have hury his wrist. His second on 1 had a solid root 4 inches in front of the ball. He manned up and punched it out and took a shot. I would have gone sideways

Playing 9 th, dave plus ten after 8, mward +6 pottsy +3... Dave has not hit a green, hss 3jacked twice and dunked an approach... And now dave and pottsy both dunked tee shots on 9

Edit that was 8. After eight, pottsy is plus five, mward plus six, dave plus eleven.. Ninth is long and into wind...

BTW Dave looking great in the 'All Black' outfit. Did you do the Haka on the 1st tee? Is that what scared Qtong off the course?

Congrats, your post was quite funny even though you weren't attempting any humor. A laptop that won't type in a "y". This was some good intermission humor.

Are you guys playing the tips and, if so, what's the total yardage? Is the length of the course the cause of the high scores?

Note to self: the bladed wedge play from off the green is a terrible idea. Scrambling hole high, I hit a putt like wedge like crap and made bogey

We haven't heard anything for awhile. This is what usually happens after the first 9 holes. The Qtong incident has created some intrigue. Why did he leave the course? Was it due to wrist injury, similar to Michelle Wie? Even if injured, why not stay and watch as the host? These and other questions are still lingering.

What do you mean Qtong withdrew? Nobody withdraws in a GR match! It is suppose to be a match between men, not women! He pulled a Michelle Wie for crying out loud! Is withdrawing in the middle of a round an oriental thing, or what?

Did I see some posts where "triple bogeys" were performed? I think that is a GR match play first. What's the deal, guys?

Pottsy, I proudly crown you with the Al Czervik award for that outfit you got on. I've never seen clothes clash as much as that in any of the GR matches before. Congratulations!

Qthong's real test of manhood will be coming back on GR to face the music. Any wagers? Is he going to vanish like JeffH did after his match or will he have the testicular fortitude to return like Sooner? Stay tuned.
Sounds like it was fun guys. A total chopfest, but fun. Maybe someday I will compete in a GR match after all.

This doesn't reflect very well on Ping. If anyone should have quit it was Pottsy -- to change his clothes.

Way to go, MW, very impressive. Dave, was it the Denny's breakfast or excessive warm-up? It sucks when your game just doesn't show, but it happens to everyone. Look forward to the video even though it may not be this year.

If his leaving was only based on his play I would guess that he'll never come back. If he was injured that's another story but he could have stayed with the group and watched on. Of course, we need to give him the benefit of the doubt to explain his side of it. Maybe Dave was talking politics again.

Sorry for playing so awfully guys! Really enjoyed playing with mward and dave they are Gentlemen.

Course was not near as good as I thought it would be and I caught a few horror lies but no excuses I was bad!!

As for the outfit the shorts have purple in them you just can't see it - still pretty bad clash though I agree!

Glad I turned up in person anyway if not as a golfer!!

Thanks Pottsy, I think you're a gentleman too. How come you guys didn't do a playoff? Was the course really tough because of the length. 7,000 yards is extremely long if you don't get much roll. It must have been pretty tough if Dave shot over 90. Let me know your paypal address by PM and I'll send you and MWard the $20 I owe you.

We need to give Qtong a chance to explain. Let's say 24 hours. He could have been injured, he could have crapped his pants, the others might have been ripping nasties (some had Denny's before) or he could have received a trim offer via text message.

Good show, Pottsy! No one is ever as bad as they are in a GR matchup. The camera will do it to you every time, as well as the pressure to make a good score. Those of us who have ACTUALLY played in a match that was videoed understand this fact. I'm glad you had the balls to do it. I look forward to seeing the video.

Florida courses tend to play very moist as they saw. It's rare to get a lot of run out on all your tee shots. Add wind and it gets tough.

We would have gone one more but we didn't have the time (flights/family/work appt at 6:30) and there were 3 groups behind us. I'm pissed about a tie but I was pretty far back thru 12. I'll enjoy that minor victory.

And shut up Pottsy I matched just fine. No clash whatsoever

The b!tch walked off the course?

That is a chink move if I have ever seen one...

Just like home invasions; chinks only invade their own race because even they know their own race is a bunch of b!tches...

You can take the chink out of China, but you can't take the China out of the chink; perfect example --> qtong.

I am really disappointed qtong, and, judging from any lack of response from the three others playing, you pulled a big chink move there.

    I am disappoint.

Since when did we ever give anyone time to explain themselves? NaH was ripping into Noshuz about his golf attire before he ever got home from the course and Edgey was ripping into my 97 score before I ever got home. It is a GR tradition to rip people first and listen to explanations later. Sorry, I know you are my senior officer, but I have to usurp your authority here by mentioning already precedent GR protocol.

Dave's game didn't seem to have caught the flight over from dallas.

Don't recall a day when nothing good happened. Nothing. I hit one fairway, made one putt of about four feet, hit one green (17th but three jacked it) and did not make a single par.

In short, I became a spectator early on. And what a match up I witnessed.... Mward was several shots back on the back nine and gutted it out... He got it back to tied on the 16th tee, gave one away again on 17, then chipped to three feet on 18 while pottsy faced at least 70 feet of downhill birdie putt... Ran it past and missed the comebacker, leaving mward to calmly roll in the three footer for the tie.

Epic stuff! A GR legend is born, our own Pottsy, who I will always think of as Carl... :-)

And Mward's gutty never say die finish will go down in history, not just here at GR but in the very WORLD of golf..... :-). Great stuff, good guys, kudos to my friend Jason for great camera work which we can all see shortly after Lorenzo dies.

I was giving NS s.hit from the first photo and basically haven't stopped. Look, I'm marrying a Chinese girl, I have to defend the race. I want fair proof as to a point of honor. Yes, all this silence seems like a smoking gun. Hosts don't leave and sportsmen don't quit, again unless there was health or p.ussy involved.

Maybe Qtong thought he was on The Big Break and had to take the solitary walk down the fairway after losing the elimination match.

Dave, probably all you need is a future match with me again to bring out your best game. Normally that is whenever it appears. Kudos to you for flying out for this match.

Qtong was in my cart. I didn't do much talking. He didn't have it today. None of us did really. I just didn't want to lose to that wank, as I called him kindly after a few really great shots that I just wasn't in the mood for. His third onto to 16 made me want to ankle tap him with a putter. No good stance, manufacture a swing.. put it 18ft above the hole. Just a great shot.

I can't wait to see the drivable par 4 swings. There's some recoil on mine that may look cool in slow mo

Crap, I just ate dinner. We need some kind of warning icons to put on threads so we will not open them up so soon after eating. I nearly lost my entire supper onto my key board after looking at this pic . . . . . . .

We worked on q's swing for about a week while I was down there, and We got it to a place I was fairly happy with... However due to the distance I am from fla, we felt it would be more beneficial that he see someone closer... He started working with mike Bender and my knowledge was still working on that swing style which is better than some but still not really what I would like to see...

I will go on record and say that I do not approve of his actions, I even talked to him via text and phone call today telling him to return to the match... It is regretable that he acted in this manner, and I would hope that he would apologize to all parties involved... As for his swing, as I said I am in no way responsible at this time for what he is doing (to my knowledge)...
