And you think a 360 yard avg is long...

    http://www.pgatour.com/players/score...8078/r002/2004

This is unbeleivable... his round two driving average would take me 7 or more swings...
Or is it a technical error?

I don't think it is an error. They were calling him 1 iron on TV. I thought it was you.
there are probably only a couple of golfers that should refer to themselves as the master. I am sure it is not anyone on this board.

Congratulation 1iron! I just don't know how you do it. I think you have lied to us about your swing speed, it has to be a solid 300MPH!

Seriously though, I am sure it is an error. How the hell did you find it? I am not sure I have heard of the guy.

I was looking at the leaderboard, and scroll down to the disance avgs, and see this fool with an average clout at over 900 yards, and I said "For the love of God and all that is holy, that's insane"
900 yards is two good drives and an 8 Iron...
This is very demoralizing to find someone who can almost triple my distance off the tee...
And I always considered myself a very long hitter...
but looks like I've been bested....
Thinking about it... he can match my avg drive with a PW... now THAT'S a scary thought...

Well, they edited this guy, so it was an error. However, there's still another 900-yarder out there...

It seems that PGATOUR.com has had some technical errors the last couple of weeks. I posted last week that Michelle Wie's average was over 325 and she was ranked 2nd in the field in driving distance. I swear on my daughter's life that was the data when I looked. The next morning it had been changed to more realistic numbers. Go figure.

Assuming he's triple your distance only when you use your 1 Iron. If you were using your driver he'd would be only twice your distance off the tee.

Seriously, I think his nose is long as a 1 Iron.

I logged on, and they have apparently corrected the driving distance error. It is now just under 300 yards, so it is now within the range of 1 Iron's pitching wedge.
If someone had a driving distance of 900 yards reported, is it just possible that a reality check might be in order before getting all excited about it? How many 900 yard holes are there on any golf course? On my home course, the longest holes are only 875 yards, so I have to use my 3 wood instead of my driver to avoid going over the hole........I hate when that happens!

I look at the avg. driving distance and I see 290+. Certainly not the 900 yds you're up in arms about.

Hack, looks like our boy 1 iron quietly changed his 'What's in Your Bag' contents when he figured out that a 7x Fujikura doesn't exist. In place of his ludicrous shaft flexes, he posted his ludicrous distances of each club - replacing lies with more lies. He just keeps on digging. ;-)

You definitely are challenged if you believed that even for a nano second. Then again, you believe that you possess a 160 mph swingspeed.

1 My swing speed was 160 a few months ago. It's presently 149 mph.
2 See my bag for my avg distances... I had to deal with a bit of yardage loss to keep more shots in play.
3 Stop being jealous, and herb riding me in all my threads.

If I believed you, I wouldn't be jealous - I would be proud of you. But I believe that you're long off the nose rather than off the tee.

    1 iron,
I believe you . There is nothing wrong by hitting far. People just can not believe that because they have not seen it with their own eye. I think most of the people here wasn’t jealous but found hard to believe. So if you want them not to jealous but believe you just prove to them. (If only you want to)
I could have said that I putt from the tee and make 300 yard, but I could not prove that. So I do not expect other to believe that, or just think they are jealous. Prove it so they all will shut up or else....

Wow. All the way down to 149 mph! Are you getting arthritis, or having twinges of conscience for your habitual lying? Having a swingspeed means more than getting a reading off a machine when you are swinging as hard as you can to make the numbers as high as possible. You have to be able to use that swingspeed to actually hit a ball with some semblence of control. If your swingspeed gets much slower, it might even come down to the level of those hacks, the top PGA pros.
