Putter: Don't ask, the putter can go to hell and back.
Ballflight is universal, i work the ball depending on shot. If normal shot, I usually hit a slight draw.

My distances are long with my irons, but the X-18's have strong lofts, with my new clubs i am getting the lofts are not as strong so take ten to 15yds off.

well Bethpage I remember reading that the average golfer rarely or if ever breaks 100 so your handicap of 2 most be complete ****.Really only after 5 years?
Same applies to you Lyle G with the 4 cap.Of course you have had more practice right!
You guys should almost be on the pro tour.

My index is +1.3 and I have been playing 28 years.

My yardages are all identical to Beth the Caddies distances, except it seems I can putt. Otherwise I do not understand the discrepencies in our respective indexes.

Shafts are all project x (5.8)
    Grips are victory ribbed.
    Heads are Macgregor forged cavity.

Driver and 3 wood are aldila s 75 gram graphite.

    580 xd driver
    steelkhead III 3- wood.

    No utility. I carry a 2 iron.

    Saving for a hi bore.

    I am also filthy rich.

I've never paid much attention to golf equipment. Up until a month ago I was hitting an '88 Big Bertha. Currently using Taylor R7 425 9.5 stiff, 1988 Ping Eye 2's 3-PW, Hogan GW 53* 9bounce. Only carrying 11 clubs currently.

Call BS all you want... I'm sure LC3 will be posting any moment. I feel the same way about some of your handicaps. I sometimes wonder just how many mulligans some of you take a round. My grandfather taught me the swing at 5 and also said something that always stuck with me, "When you cheat at golf, your only cheating yourself"

Yeah, but you publically acknowledged lieing on here about your handicap just late last year, so I wouldn't get to high and mighty or you may break something if you set yourself up for to big of a fall.

It was what it was and nothing more. I just find it funny you and your maturity talk and you lie about a handicap. What was there to gain?
Besides I'm not getting into a dust up verbal or otherwise with a kid.

Well, between the ages of 12 and 30, I got to play about 4 to 8 times a season. It really doesn't do much for your handicap. At 12 I was a 12 hdcp. This year, though my son is about to be born (and therefore this may not continue), I've made a determined effort to play at least once a week if not more. So far, so good.

No, just figured because of the nature of your comments, it should be mentioned. I do agree, it took alot to come clean, as I am sure there are probably many out there that still live under a similar lie and preach the opposite.

Actually, your day will come when you get old. I started when I was 35 years old and was down to a 15 within 3 years. I am now 41 and last year was all the way up to a 25 but am back down to a 21, mainly due to not playing as much. Just be careful talking to much about it in case you have the same experience of adding 10 strokes.

It is kinda like weight, you start out slim and trim, but when you get older it is a he!! of a lot easier to put on than to take off once you reach that point

How many "Pound your chest, ego building excersize" threads need to be posted?

Besson is filthy rich and he smokes during his backswing.

Here's another one!!! You've been playing two years and are under a 6 handicap?? So you got a full college golf scholarship, too? And let me guess, you've also caddied for Tiger and Jack Nicklaus was your personal instructor? See how stupid those sound, well so does you saying that you are a 5.6 handicap after two years. Maybe on a par 3 or mini putt putt course!!!!

I don't know whats up your azz golfaholic. Whenever I post you have some smart azz comment in response. We all know that its nearly impossible to have that low of an official handicap after two years of playing. No matter what you have against me, you know thats true.

"We all know that its nearly impossible to have that low of an official handicap after two years of playing."

A guy at my club went from a 12 to a +2 in one calender year. Honest to god. His swing litteraly transformed over the winter from lessons, a big mirror and a barn he hit balls in.
So as for getting good real fast, I can believe that is really can happen.

Okay but how many years had he been playing before that? I see your point that some truly remarkable things can happen, but they often don't. I'll take your word for that, but everyone gets on to each other for lying on their distances and this and that. I personally think that you'd have to be a golf prodigy to be strokes away from a scratch golfer after two years of playing. If it's true, Vinny, I apologize. But if not then there's no need to lie here, we're all just trying to get better and we don't need to inflate handicaps or anything else to fit in on this site.

I'm not sure how long he played before that. But he was only 19 when this happened.

Just an observation, but how is this thread any different than the GR Profile sticky that does not contain all too common inflamatory word "Distance" in the title.

Sorry. Just kind of pisses me off when people jump to conclusions about other peoples games. I agree, he is probably BS’in us but what good is calling him a liar going to do? Just let him do his thing.

I admit, as soon as I read..5.7 I thought to myself 'bull shiiot'. But why not give him the benefit of the doubt and just play along with him. Maybe he really does have a 5.7 handi. But then again maybe he only plays 9 holes and puts that score in on a comp. Maybe he doesn’t count penalty strokes. Who knows..

I'll try to keep my responses to your posts..acceptable...

I mean it’s possible he does have the cap he says. After all tiger broke 80 when he was what less than 10 wasn’t it?

Today’s Golfer ran the story of a man who took up golf in his thirties and got down to scratch in a calendar year so clearly it’s possible. You also here of many sports man who play to single figures and get there quickly and with out much effort. On the other extreme in Scotland a retired investment banker died recently and his collection of golf clubs was auctioned off for £50’000, absolutely every set driver and putter that the OEMs had released since hid been interested in golf. Here was a man with the time the passion and the money to invest in getting to scratch and what was his handicap 18 and that was the lowest hid ever got it.

I'm getting old, 41, kind of fat, 200lb, for my height, 5'11, but my handicap, 16.9, is coming down. I've been playing for about 15 years, but last winter I bought all new gear along with a series of lessons. Everything is coming together & I'm starting to strike the ball well.

I think distances are irrelevant, conditions, lie, & type of shot dictate distances. On a wet cold (45*) morning, I'm happy if I can get my drives out there 230 yards with a fade, on a sunny 70* day I can hit drives around 260 to 280 if I'm turning the ball over. Same thing with a 7 iron, on a cold day, if I cut it , it may only go 145 yards, but on a warm day, if I hit a draw out of a flyer lie, it can go 175 yards.

I'm sure I'll get down below a 15 index before summer & will beat my best round (82) by fall.

    I'm now a 4.

Vinny, I already said my bad if you were telling the truth. A good deal of people on here are kinda full of it (not everyone, especially not the ones who post a bunch) and it gets sort of annoying. I'm not from a big golfing town so I didn't even realize it was possible to drop that quick. Most people here get stuck where they're at and don't get down to scratch at young ages. Hell, I thought I was doing good at a 16.3 after a little over a year!! I wish I had the time and money to play as much as you have or I might me another success story! Anyway, no hard feelings, you obviously worked hard to get where you're at in your game and I shouldn't have knocked it.

never said I had a problem. You assumed I had a problem. There have been problems with people lieing about caps, and how far they hit the ball. If your better than scratch at 15, great. Why havent I heard about you??

    dont take things so personal.

    48 seems a little steep..28 sounds better

    What’s your lowest competitive score?
How many trnys have you won?

Hope you don’t mind the questions..im just interested

Ooooo..Just thought of something...You say u can't afford the tours or anything right? Then you can play school golf. There are 3 jr's in my area that are in the newspaper constintly. What school do you go to, cause certainly that costs no money at all! At 15 with a +1 cap, you would be taking OFFSAA for school golf without a hitch.

my bad. I sincerely do apologize because it does say +1 in your profile.

As to the second part of your post, so you were academically disqualified? Amazing how whenever someone comes close to sniffing out a lie you have a new wrinkle in your story.

Let me get this str8 you're the best golfer at your school but not on the team? So there is no way anyone could confirm?

Still waiting for your name and state so I can verify your +1 handicap....

You can private message it to me if you don't want it on the forum and I'll post the validity (if any) of it.

Relax. Did you take your ritalin this morning?

I'm not doubting you, I'm just trying to prove it for you. Although now that I see how defensive you're getting I'm starting to have my doubts.

Ok, no problem. Just wanted to make sure.

As for the ban, I’m for it. This horrible use of bad language is disrespectful, and shouldn’t have to be read by anyone.

Wow, first we're questioning his handicap, now I'm questioning his 'handicap'.... and his age.

    My votes go for:

    Handicap: Teurettes
    Age: 10

Little boy, go home and come back when you grow up. Mkay?
