Using a line on ball for putting

This year I started drawing a line on the ball to line it up for putts. This has helped my putting immensely. It forces you to pick a spot to line up to. For instance if I read a putt at 6 inches out to the right of the hole, I line up the line to that spot. It also helps when placing the putter to the ball. If the putter is square to the line then you know your aim is correct. I'm sure a lot of people are already doing this but if you don't give it a try. It's helped me a lot

i aggree that it helps to get locked onto the line and to stay commited but it only works if you have a consistant putting stroke... it kills me when i see 30+ handicappers take 10min to line up a putt like that and then not even hit it on the same line that they aimed it at...

I also kills me to see ANY handicap take 10 minutes to aim the line on their ball from 6 feet. Are people that mechanical? I pick out a spot a few feet in front and aim at that.

    edit:
This topic has been covered before with hilarious results. LC3 really had a talent for pissing people off.

Omens uses the Range Ball lines to scope his putts because the words are to hard to read.

no they definitely are not allowed to go after the veterans...

mind your manners there pup, you mess with the bull you get the horns.

omen does in fact use a line on the ball but it's just for everyone else to see how purely i stroke my putts.

mmdrake you should wait till your post count is higher or at least close to your nine hole average before going after the bid dogs. i'd say wait another 10-12 post... 39 aint ready yet.

Are you people that big a bunch of poontangs that you cant simply aim the putter head on its own? A line drawn on a ball is a surefire numbnut detector, it is more accurate than any other form of numbnut detection known to man.

Iron covers are more accurate, but yes the line is a good indication. Also, those ionic bracelets or whatever they're called.

Not sure if using a Breakfast Club reference from a guy that had toilet paper sticking out of his pants and a leisure suit on was really the best way to put someone in their place.
    Actually I am sure...it doesn't work.

If you can find any evidence (outside of this thread) of bad Horseballs grammar/spelling, the joke will no longer be on you and the Pingman. Obvious typos and word omissions don't count.

I agree that the line on the ball is stupid. Tiger only uses the line to add a tiny amount of weight to one side of the ball to get that one extra half-revolution he needs to sink the impossible birdie chip. See below for proof.

Yeah that 5 seconds it takes me to line up my ball, that really adds up. Let's see 30 putts at 5 seconds each, that would be 150 seconds which would be 2 and a half minutes.

If you can get the line pointing where you want in 5 seconds then you dont need the line because you are superman. It most likely takes you about 20-30 seconds which in turn makes you douche bag man.

on an internet chat board one does not have to use perfect grammar\spelling. one must only be careful as to not expose himself as a dumbass by misspelling an easy word or using grammar that would expose you as a flunkee. give me a f***ng break with the spelling corrections, every internet forum that has ever existing has devolved into this ridiculousness at some point in time. it's so weak

back to topic: i tried the putt line and it just took too long for me. i could never get the angle right quickly enough so i bailed on it.

I don't mean to over-exaggerate but this is a mute point. Putting a line on the ball is literally the most effective way to slow down a round of golf. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go put my scorecards into a vanilla folder.

I have taken to folowing HB and Omens lead: Stand Proudly at the TEE box, Yell Fore!!!!. Jump in the Beer cart, Whoosh to the green, and place the ball on the green and calling it a two punt and pick it up. BOOM done in 30 mins without marking a ball or a divot repair.

Do you really think it takes 30 seconds? Ok you got me, it might take 10 seconds on a long putt and 5 seconds on a short putt. But if I'm taking less putts then I save time on the other end too. Do you ever mark your ball if it's not in someone's way? Probably not because your are superfastgolfer. They do have some tournaments for speed golf where you run and hit as fast as you can. I'll check on that and get back to you.
