    Golf Lessons in Dallas TX

Can anyone recommend a good place to get lessons in the DFW area? I work in the Las Colinas area but I am willing to drive.

    Thanks in advance!

This may be of help if you don't hear back from anyone.

edit 1 - From personal experience of friends of mine, I would stay away from Driving Range instructors, unless you hear of one that is known to be good. I would go to an instructor at a course. Their interest in seeing seeing you play on their course, or seeing you for instructions are about the same. At a range, seeing you over and over and over again, is benificial to them. I would try to find one that is close by and convenient, so it is not a problem to go there as needed. It is important to find one you like and continue to use that will remember you and your swing. Plus if you play the course alot, they are usually willing to answer a couple of questions before or after a round. Seeing you on their course is important to them.

My wife and I started out with a 5 week, 1 hour a week 8 person lesson that was around $100 for the five weeks. Starting out this was a great way to go. I then took a 1/2 private lesson for around $40 each year. I got down to a 15 handicap in 2 1/2 years. I failed to do that the last 2 years and my game fell apart somewhat for lack of executing basics and fundamentals correctly. That and the fact that we moved, and I was to lazy to find a new instructor.

Pretty much, As a programmer Golf was pretty much the cause of why I now work for myself, and this forum is probably the death of my private industry standards.

It'd be a little hike for you, but Mickey Piersall at Keeton Park in Dallas is a great guy. He was ranked by the Morning Snooze as one of the area's top instructors & gets $50 for a long 45 minutes.

He'll set you up with a package for less.
Hold my Beer. I'm going to hit a high fade over that tree....

    four seasons

Paul at the TPC Four Seasons in Las Colinas is great. He is the head pro there. Anytime I swing through Dallas I alsways stop and see him. By the way...the courses are great...even if you can't get on the main course where the Byron is played cottonwood valley is not a bad track at all

    Hank Haney's Golf Ranch

I don't know what your budget is but have you consider Hank Haney's Golf Ranch. And yes I know driving from Irving to McKinney is quite a haul. But you did say you where willing to drive.

Actually, I think Hank Haney has a golf center in Dallas off 635 close to where I work.

    Thanks for the tip!

If you get lessons at the Hank Haney Golf Center, let me know how you like them. I've gotten lessons from Golftec which is located in Golfsmith store in Plano and I'm not totally satisfied with the level of instruction.
