Never heard of them. I thought the MX 20 was the first of the T-Zoid MX line.

Looks like Mizuno tried to get on the hybrid iron train pretty early on.I read that there supposedly hollow. There not forged thats a stroke against them in my book, unlike the Maxfli irons whrere they used a nickel casting in some of there irons, and there as nice as any forged iron. Wide soles could be a problem on some lies. Threre super sgi though. I wonder if there Womens clubs. TourStage I think made something similar, called maybe the ts-201. Though the reviews on them are almost always good.

I think the comp ez is 10-11 years old. I wonder what the clubhead weighs on the mx 11? I dont what your scores are KY, if your a pretty solid 80s shooter you can probably play anything. You seem to prefer graphite shafts, I would be looking for some mx-23 with some exsar shafts. They would melt in your hands on a pure shot.

I could be solid 80s, I strike a ball quite well but I don't play enough to be consistent. I am 61 so the distance is no longer there. I think I like steel shaft but too heavy for me, that's why I play R-flex graphite, not because I prefer... Gaybrids help a lot, that's why I only carry 6i-PW irons .... Thanks for your input...

I still use my 4 iron alot, off tees especially. All these holes use to be driver baby, go for the green, Ob, or water, Now I putt for birdie. I love my 4 iron, I cracked one almost 230 on a pulled slight draw right almost into the water. The other day when I shot a 73. I was hitting my second, from down below the hole 4 feet feet from the water. I should have birdied that hole, as I missed a 6 foot putt.

The ts-201 is not a GI club. It is a compact, forged players cb probably closest to the Z101. It has a weight pad behind the sweet spot similar to the old t-zoid pros.
They are a very nice iron with quite a bit of forgivness for their type.

Holy Sh*T! I was just out wandering around and stopped at a small private golf shop that has been getting blown away since the Golf Galaxy moved in a decade ago, Just to see if they had any used sets of Comp EZ's or MX's that I could look at and hit in their simulator. I was bummed because I just lost out in the last couple of days on a set of Comp EZ's and MX 20's on Ebay and the newer MX's were too much for me to spend right now. So I root around in this shop and find a couple of matching MX 23's-- 3 through 7 irons-- for $15 a piece that looked almost new with Dynalite Gold R300's. So I took the 4 thru 7 and hit about 5 balls each in the simulator and my mind was blown by how good they felt and how far they carried. Averages were 7-160, 6-172, 5-185, 4-195. Not bad for a 64 year old who last hit a full shot without lower back pain over 3 weeks ago. I've hit on this simulator before, the last time maybe a year and a half ago when I was interviewing various shafts and the guy hooked me up to MX 200 and AP 2 heads and the best 6 iron carries I was getting with any of the shafts was about 166. So I bought the 4, 5, 6 & 7 and brought them home and find out that the weights and playing lengths are very good in both weight and length increments with my MP 14 8, 9 and PW. I think I may have my set. The MX 23's which I'd never hit (never hit an MX's except the 200's) are the most solid feeling irons I've ever hit.

I am super impressed with my mx 25's. Very sweet to hit and excellent performers. I think there is not a lot of difference between them and the 23's. Certainly they have the same shaft. There are a couple of good sets of 23's on ebay right now for $199.

I doubt there is much difference at all between the 23's and 25's.
I really like the sole grind on those 23's. Even though I just hit mabye 30 balls off the shop mat, I compressed every ball with hands ahead of clubface without trying and with no sense that I was hitting off a mat. Can't wait to hit them off turf. If they are as good as I think they are, I could see myself saving a whole bunch of strokes because my game is piss-poor weak from 150-200 yards out and on par 3's.

The MX 20s are better than the 23 or 25 IMO. The 20s have less offset (almost none) and setup more player like. The only letdown with 20s is the short irons are clunky, but the 3,4 and 5 are probably the perfect compromise of forgiveness and playability. If I was setting up my perfect set of GFF I would go for MX20 3 and 4 iron for sure.

Excuse me Op. I meant the ts-211 airmuscle, which used airmuscle or hollow technology. I bid a set up last year until I realized they were basically a hybrid iron. My bad

You'll love the mx-23 or 25 the 20 has very little offset, but essentially the same club. There among the easiest to hit Mizunos ever, and the feel is oh so nice.

Op you have got to keep your eyes open for some Comp-ez Mizunos, with the sensicore shaft. They go for very little, usually. Truly a real eye opener, as far as irons go. If you like the 25? You will love the Comp ez. Dont sell the 25s though. There keepers. I,ve always got a set in stock, (mx-20 lately), laying around for when needed.

I,ve had (2) sets of mx-23 with that shaft, the dynalite gold R300. Handsdown the best feeling of them all, and I,ve had 3 other sets, (2) SL S300 mx-25, and (1) with gs75 in stiff, in some mx-23. If you can get used to the pw, and the rest of the set, you can make some great shots with them. For such a big club, I have no problem working them. My favorite is still the mx-23 they nailed it. For a old man it sounds like you can still put some mustard on your swing. Thats about what I hit my irons, distance wise

I think I've said it before but I've known several low single digit players that bag the MX 20, 23 or 25. I looked at sets of 23s and 25s at Golfmart recently and the look has me thrown off. The offset combined with the length of the blade gives it a very square look that makes me assume that I would hook them. Also, I lose distance with the Dynalite because of the low kick point. I agree they feel great.
With the MX-11 and with several other Mizuno offerings, I think they must have shifted at times in their marketing strategy. At times they appear to be a company that's attempting to satisfy everyone instead of focusing on the fairly-good to expert golfer. It appears they've narrowed their focus lately on marketing to the better golfer or golfer who wants to improve.
One of the best feeling cast irons I ever tried was the Mizuno TC-29. It came close to a forged feel but was horrible in distance.
Titleist has done an excellent job of catering to the better player and right now their clubs have the highest resale prices I've seen. Cleveland and Wilson have the worst.

"Silly little kid trix are for kids" If you hit your 7 from around 150-165 yards get dynalite gold r300 in some mx-23 and be ready to be amazed. And they dont hit to high! I like the s300 also. The mx-20 has very little offset, and look way more player.

I,ll let you in on a little secret hacker. The mx 20 is a little more fade biased, and a little shorter then the mx 23. The comp ez may be the longest of them all, as it seems very draw biased, with very little offset.

Given that I picked up a set of mx23's a week back, this topic has piqued my interest in getting them out to play. Had to have the lie on them flattened quite a bit, as they're an inch over standard length, and I am short 5' 6" on a good day; kind of like Ian Woosnam style irons. They also have the Exsar blue shafts in stiff which seem to be more like a firm-regular flex to me.. It's been raining and cold here so I only had a chance to hit them off the mats at a covered driving range in a howling wind; feel was very good for graphite and GI heads, although, muted compared to my MP 30's but still buttery; swing weights were in the D3 (4i) to D5 (pw) range which is the same as my MP 30's. The MX23's with Exsar shafts are very easy to swing, and I could still feel where the club head was compared to other graphite shafted clubs I have tried. I am thinking these have the lighter B-heads rather than having been extended after manufacture, although, I have not pulled the grips to find out as they are like new Lampkin Crosslines. Picked these up for just over $100 and they look like they were rarely played.
I have been golfing with extended drivers (46 1/2 to 47 inch) for 5 years now with good results so we'll see how it goes with the longer than standard irons and I will give a full report. For the record I am also in my 60's; I'm looking to make the game more relaxed, and easier on my body which is hurting from past transgressions;-}

This would seem to back up my opinion that the MX 20s were the more player model of the MX line. It also explains why I liked playing them, I'm a natural right to left player and benefit from irons that are fade biased.

That would explain why several pros played them, when they were released. A mx club geared toward the better player.
