Don't Bother Reading This Thread. It's Not That Important Part II: The Manifesto

    Alright, you asked for it.

I am no longer going to frequent this site. There, I know I'm not the first one to publicly bolt from this site (See also: Benguk, BethpageCaddie), and surely after the last few months, I won't be the last. Unlike the aforementioned "former" members, I will not leave in a huff, nor will I call out individuals or go off on an illiterate 3rd grade tirade, and I also won't return to flame under various pseudonyms. Instead I will simply say goodbye.

To those who remain who actually are worth a $hit as far as golf and golf related information, to you I say good luck. You have your work cut out for you.

To the moronic monkeys who can't seem to stop posting, and yet never offer anything worthwhile to this site other than a social barometer of how poorly our school system is doing, I say, keep up the good work. You have turned a good idea into a junior high playground, and should be commended. You could probably f**k up a wet dream too, huh? You are the reason I am leaving. So go ahead you troglodytes, say what you want in response, I don't care. I won't be around to read it anyway, so it won't bother me. Kind of takes all the fun out, huh, like looting in a town with no people.

When I first started posting on this site, it was a place where you could ask questions, gloat, whine, and generally talk about a great game. Now it's an unregulated outhouse of namecalling and egregiously disjointed ideas put together with bad grammar and misspelling for 13 year olds' amusement.

I am off to find greener pastures, and invite those of a similar mind to join me. It can't get much worse, right? I would say what site I am going to, but I fear the plague of this site would follow me there and contaminate it as well.

    2 questions:

    1) Weren't you the "mature/sensible" poster who advocated (& actually carried out) hitting into slow-playing groups ahead of you?

    2) You quote Benguk/BPC, both of whom made long, embarrassing retirement speeches. Like them, are you going to return here frequently & pretend that you didn't quit the board?

    Thanks.

The reason you get so many negative posts is that you're always berating everyone and everything. MR. NEGATIVE!!!

Come back when you don't rant so much.

Unfortunately, for every person who writes "I'm leaving", there are many more that simply don't come back. The general tone of the board drives a lot of good people away. There are plenty of boards out there where people actually discuss golf and golf related themes without flame wars.
    Seldom right, never in doubt......

Do me a favor & list a few of them. I've been unable to find any that weren't rotting with HS ( or earlier) teens who did nothing but post about their driving distances & adulation of all things Tiger & Mizuno...

If you really want a taste of immaturity, check out the ESPN golf board. That easily wins the award for Worst Message Board Ever.
GR is by far the most entertaining board that still manages to talk a little golf.

Joeysdaddy, sorry to see you go. You seemed to have a real passion for golf and ranting.

Why write a (long-winded) post about the fact that you're not coming to GR anymore? If you don't want to come back, then just do that. Are you secretly hoping that fred will beg you to stick around? Maybe a ticker-tape parade? What was the point of this post?

Further, you might want to be careful drawing comparisons (of any type) between yourself Bengunk and BPC.

Adios Joey'sdad - please come back and let us know the next time you intentionally hit into the group in front of you!

i've always thought you were a bit odd, several of your threads titles started with "don't read this, it's a waste of time". atleast you are honest.

Are you fuc*ing serious? How long are we going to let these guys hang out and ruin the forums before someone puts their foot down and decides to do something about it? Honestly, LC3 and theidioticbizarre are single handedly driving the board to its ruin. In retrospect, I really never even did anything to cause all this ridicule on me. It was simply them baiting me and me being a moron and taking the bait and giving him what he wanted. More material to bait me with.

Every f*cking day members are leaving and it can be attributed mostly to these losers. A piece of trash on the internet. Well guys, you may be tough over the computer, but I can say without a doubt I would kick the ever living sh!t out of both of you if you ever said some of the things you say to me in person. Your sarcastic remarks and condescending attitudes are frightening. No wonder you have no real committments in life and you can spend the better part of your day on the computer. You're a screw up and the only way you can still hold a shred of dignity is anonymously posting on an internet forum. Go f*ck yourself. And and the idiot, no one actually believes you're going to oxford, so you can save that lame a$$ excuse for another forum that doesn't know any better.

Say what you want about Benguk, but at least he came here to talk about golf. When you bait someone in Junior High, sure they're going to come back at you. The fact that you would even bait him shows your immaturity. The same goes for Fred. Sure he can be a bit rash at times, but the guy continues time and time again to keep his cool under your ridicule.

GR Members- can we finally do something about LC3 and the idiot and get them the hell out of here? Maybe that will provide an incentive for all their apprentice cronies as well to clean up their acts. How many good members have to leave? Ben, Boomhauer, Jayhawk, Joesdaddy....... whos next? Lets stop complaining about this loser and lets finally do something.

Joey's dad - I just saw you looking at this thread. Welcome back!!

What is it about the "retirement" crowd that compels them to come back and check out the responses to their retirement threads?

I haven't been on here long, but had good vibes when I first joined. It started going downhill with the obsession of 'you cant drive the ball 300yds' or 'you cant carry a 6i 180' etc etc etc, now its just insults or 'I could beat/kick your a$$ at golf'. Its like being at school!

Some people just wanted to chat golf.

I would like to know some other forums that you suggest.....Golf related of course. The purview of this site was a good concept. It should be expanded as to discussion threads and moderated more in line with what people enjoy. Age does NOT matter as long as a certain respect is given to all that post. If not for junior golf; who would replace the aging masses that play? It's a great sport that I hope many, many younger players take up. After all, it's a game of a lifetime. Having played from being a junior to now someone who can almost qualify as a senior, I have enjoyed all ages that appreciate and respect the sport. So why not improve this board, rather than just rant and leave? Does anyone have any good suggestions? It seems relatively easy to ignore childish posts without picking up the gauntlet laid by certain posters.

hey guys sure some of us get bored and just want to piss some ppl off but in the end we dont mean to drive you guys away, most of us came here to talk about golf and sometimes mental thoughts fail us and we have to say something completly idoitic

I'm here to mostly talk golf and the LC3 posts don't really bother me at all... then again I've never been baited into anything where I had to totally lose my composure and look like an @ss clown. Maybe that's why some of you hate him and the others? I watch in amazement that some of you youngens choose to get owned by him not understanding that you could never win a battle of the wits against him. It's the internet, he can always fall back on the "my mom can whoop up on your mom" if all other logic fails. Sadly it usually doesn't as you all cave very easily, or finally after looking rediculous, quit fighting back... at which time you've become another notch in his putter shaft. The only one I've seen come close to putting him in his place is dorkman but even he can't win due to rule #2 which states LC can't really be beat as long as HE'S having fun.

It's usually a very easy read to follow an LC3 post or you can ignore it. What real or imaginary harm is actually wrought by his existence here? If your skin is that thin on the golf course you all don't stand a chance in match play. You shouldn't be on an internet forum that isn't tightly modded. I'll take a loosely modded board on a topic as soft as GOLF anyday over an over modded board. Even a tightly modded board would hurt GR IMO. The AVS forum's are very tightly modded and it happens to work for that arena... be careful what you wish for. You just might get a 13 year old in charge again... or some of your text may be editted in all your posts which is never fun as you have no defense against such actions. LC3 is fine here... my God, where else would he be safe in society? Take one for humanity guys!!!

Heh heh... Just like I predicted. The more melodramatic the 'goodbye', the more certain the poster will be back even more frequently than before. Now... as soon as he comes up with a new s/n, which he WILL, GUARANTEED, the rest of my forecast will be proven true.

Way to set a good example, Mr. Former Board Monitor. What a mature post you put up for consideration. That's nice, really nice. And you think people are deserting the board because of LC3... LOL!

The funniest thing is that Beth really believes that he was an excellent moderator.

Despite the weight of evidence that his constant post-tampering, thread-deleting nonsense has made over half the board detest him, he still clings on to the belief that his crusade was a noble one.

His resignation speech followed by his swift return was rather amusing though!

Ben, Boomhauer, Jayhawk, Joesdaddy....... whos next? Lets stop complaining about this loser and lets finally do something.
this might not prove everything but here is the first page of my results

are you going to suck my d!ck now or later beth? ;)

ps. the no result was an exam board cock up and so was the 26/120 - it was a 2 part exam, 1 part out of 30 and the other out of 90. i got 26/30 and then 86/90 and the woman in the exams office wrote it down as 96 out of 90. i work with retards i tell ye.

they are 2/5ths of my A-Level grades.

i did maths, physics, f.maths, economics and general studies. i got 4A's and a B in general studies (tho general studies isn't recognised my any universities anyway - we just do it so the school gets more money as more pupils have got more a-levels). i needed 4 A's to get into Oxford. the maths results are on 2 different pages as is the general studies.

also i am a physics geek.
you need 420 out of 600 to get an A, i needn't have sat the last exam, maybe even last 2.

yeh further maths. it's university level mathematics. compromising of Further Pure 1, Further Pure 2, Further Pure 3 and then 3 other modules. if i was going to do maths in university i could sit out as i would have already done it (university maths year 1 is FP1-FP3).

foundation maths? LOL! that's GCSE and not A-Level!

    umm yes it is.
they are not called FP1, FP2 and FP3 (as these are A-Level modules) but the content is exactly the same. why do you think oxbridge demand you do further maths for an A-Level? so you basically get a head start on your degree and thus can work much more on the hard stuff.

applied maths is NOT further maths, applied maths is like Statistics etc. you have to do 3 of these modules in regular maths. like i've said further maths is FP1-FP3 and 3 other modules.
there is applied maths and core/pure maths.

    applied - mechanics, statistics, decision
    core/pure - calculus, algebra...

you'll understand if you do A-Level maths... (it's nothing like GCSE)

Dear boy.. must you be so condescending at every opportunity? Not only did I do 2.5 Maths A-Levels, I almost did study Maths at university. So, yes, I understand the difference between Pure & Applied.

You, on the other hand, have absolutely NO idea what Pure maths is like at university.
I had several friends doing Maths & often looked at what they were doing. Essentially everything you regard as "pure", is applied at university. So yes, there's a tiny bit (less than 20%) of the first year syllabus that is vaguely similar & may help you in your first 2-3 weeks.

That is why you are recommended (though not required) to do Further Maths.

The Pure at university is thoroughly different. Essentially in the first year there are 2 aspects (analysis & algebra). These subjects are all about logic & rigour, there are no "calculations" involved - mainly theorems & proofs. In my Pure 6 module at A-level, I did spend a tiny amount of time on Group Theory - however, it was so basic & unrigorous that you would have to unlearn all that was taught there.

Do yourself a favour when you go up & take a look at maths books. In the mean time, do try to reduce your arrogance or you're going to be in for a huge shock in a month's time. .

the applied and pure wasn't for you, it was for EMC who doesn't understand!
i am not doing maths at uni, i'm doing law. it is to my understanding that what i said is correct. did you do P1-P6? we go given books on those and we did the practice exams.
i know first year is something like applied, linear algebra etc but mainly the content in FP1-FP3 - atleast this is what ive been told but it doesn't affect me anywho....

what we need are more mature moderators (of any age) that will not hesistate to make trolls and embarassing fools accountable: let's make this place a respectable forum for everyone with some sense of honor and honesty.
